HealthCorps 2011 Gala Red Carpet

HealthCorps took its fight against child obesity to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City for its Fifth Annual Gala, "Fresh From The Garden," on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz, Emmy Award-winning nationally syndicated talk show host of "The Dr. Oz Show," and his wife Lisa Oz, Co-Founders of HealthCorps, served as the event's Co-Hosts.

The Black Tie event to benefit HealthCorps honored Hollywood and philanthropic couple Deborah Lee Furness Jackman and Hugh Jackman; Russell Simmons, producer, philanthropist and wellness advocate; and Miami real-estate developer and philanthropist, Tibor Hollo. Dr. Mehmet Oz served as master of ceremonies. The Gala kicked off with a Red Carpet arrivals during the cocktail "health fair" hour followed by a seated dinner; silent and live auctions; acceptance speeches by the honorees during the dinner; and dancing until midnight. Actor and Performer Ben Vereen; Caron Wheeler, Grammy winner and former lead singer of Soul II Soul; and Broadway actor Stepp Stewart provided special performances.
