Our branded content short film featured the very best of Cape May, drawing an audience of potential customers with the promise of an unforgettable vacation.

The Challenge

HotelierCo is the first company to make hotel crowdfunding available in the U.S. But with so many unique locations, the question arose: how do we educate investors about what a HotelierCo hotel would offer to its guests? Why become an investor in this exciting startup?

The Solution

Rather than filming a traditional broadcast commercial, the team elected to create a branded content short film showcasing a vacationing couple enjoying the diverse array of adventures offered at HotelierCo’s Cape May location.

After a series of pre-production discovery meetings, our team uncovered the goals and aims of this branded video content.  Awakened Films was tasked with writing and storyboarding the film according to these primary needs:

 

  • An appeal to their target demographic: prosperous millennials, most likely commuters in the North East/New York area.
  • A tone that made Cape May appealing to younger travelers: chic, fast-paced, and hip.
  • Captivating visuals that made the branded content short film “shareable” on social media: a 4K drone, professional gimbal, waterproof and high-speed cameras were the tools we needed.

Branded Content: Capturing the Essence of Cape May

Once aligned on the vision, the shoot was both efficient and highly productive. In just two days, we captured scenes at more than ten distinct locations. Awakened Films showcased the best of Cape May, carefully scouting the highlights of this charming shore town and featuring its most picturesque spots.

The result was a “shareable” branded content short film experience that was sharp enough to grab the attention of the intended millennial demographic. Along with the Cape May featurette, HotelierCo put our filming time to use with a series of talking head corporate videos explaining their company and process.

Results

The branded content film helped HotelierCo to draw investors that were excited and informed.
